5 weeks vacation/year
Guaranteed to all employees by the Labor Code. Eligibility is proportional to hours worked.

5 days of sick leave/year
Guaranteed to all employees by the Collective Agreement (Article II 9e). Eligibility is proportional to hours worked.

Flexible working hours
Available to researchers (and other staff in justified cases) with the approval of their department head. If flexible working hours have been agreed, the employee must be present at the workplace between 9:30 and 14:30 during normal working hours. The employee must also be present at the workplace between 7:00 and 9:30 or between 2:30 and 7:00 p.m. so that the work week (40 hours) is met and the length of the work shift does not exceed 12 hours.

Subsidized meal and food passes worth 100 CZK/working day
Available to all employees. Eligibility is proportional to hours worked.

Subsidized language courses in the Czech Language Institute of the CAS
Available to all employees. Employees may attend courses during working hours with the approval of the Director and pay only the processing fee of CZK 500 per semester from their own funds. Click here for a list of courses.

Recreation facility
Available to all employees. The recreation and conference facility in Mariánská in the Ore Mountains has 8 rooms (for 3-4 persons each) and a sauna and can be booked on the Institute's intranet.

Supplementary pension insurance contribution
Available to full-time employees who are entitled to a Czech pension. Maximum contribution by the Institute is CZK 500 per month.

30-40% additional allowance for international travel
Available to all employees under Internal Regulation No. 84/2017: Rules on foreign business trips. Travelers are entitled to an additional 30% (or 40% for the Director and the Director's deputies) on top of the allowance guaranteed by law.

Paid leave for birth of a child, family care, marriage of a child, relocation, death in the family
Available to all employees under the Collective Agreement (Articles II 9a-f), in each case 1 extra day is guaranteed in addition to the number of days provided for by law. An employee may use a total of 2 days per calendar year under this benefit, e.g. 1 day in addition to the statutory entitlement for a relocation and 1 day in addition to the statutory entitlement for the birth of a child. Possibility of requesting a temporary reduction in working hours for health or family reasons
Available to employees with permanent contracts under the Collective Agreement (Article II 9h), subject to the approval of the Institute Director.

Emeritus status for distinguished retired researchers
The Director may grant emeritus status to a former researcher in recognition of his/her lifetime of successful scientific work and contribution to the development of the Institute and its field of research. The emeritus status guarantees a number of benefits defined by the Internal Regulation No. 74/2014 on the status of emeritus researcher.
