Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS awarded the HR Excellence in Research Award

On 14 July 2021, the European Commission awarded the Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS with the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award. The award is given to research organizations in the European Union for making progress in aligning their guidelines and practices for research staff with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers & the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (“Charter & Code”). The Charter & Code principles ensure that the relationship between researchers and employers is conducive to successful research performance and to the career development of researchers.

On January 29,  2020 the Institute the Charter & Code principles to start its voluntary commitment to the implementation of its principles throughout the organization. Since then, a 15-member team of research and administrative staff of the Institute has evaluated, analyzed and assessed the gaps in its human resources management and drew up an action plan to address them. This plan was accepted by the European Commission assessors and the Institute can thus use the HR Excellence in Research Award logo for a period of two years. During these two years, the Institute must successfully implement the proposed actions and prepare an updated analysis of the state of human resources management.
