On July 22, 2025, Institute of Thermomechanics staff members Miroslav Chomát, Jiří Plešek, and Dušan Gabriel visited the Počerady Combined Cycle Power Plant, which is part of the ČEZ Group. Martin Borovský, head of the Combined Cycle Power Plant (PPC) Operations and Maintenance Department, provided a detailed presentation of the plant’s technology and described numerous technological improvements implemented since its commissioning. These enhancements aim to increase its output, efficiency, and usability. The power plant now plays a crucial role in the energy grid as an operational reserve capable of relatively fast startup.
