LISA space mission involving scientists from our institute approved

The European Space Agency (ESA) has approved the adoption of the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission. In addition to the Astronomical Institute of the CAS, the Institute of Physics of the CAS and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the CAS, the Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS is also involved in the preparation of the mission, which is designed to detect gravitational waves. Czech representatives of the mission are developing a mechanism for switching laser beams in the mission apparatus.
