We are seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join the D5 Scientific Department, a world-class research team developing globally unique laser–ultrasonic methods for advanced material characterization. Our department is recognized as an international leader in this field and actively collaborates with top research institutions worldwide.
In 2026, we will launch a new Atom Probe Tomography Laboratory, a cutting-edge facility that will be the only one of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a pioneering scientific environment and contribute to truly exceptional research infrastructure.
Your Role
You will be a key technical partner for our scientific team, working at the intersection of research, design, and hands-on engineering:

Create 2D and 3D technical documentation for conventional and CNC machining as well as 3D printing

Design and refine solutions using 3D CAD modeling

Select and source suitable commercial mechanical and electromechanical components

Collaborate closely with in-house technicians, machinists, and external suppliers throughout the manufacturing process

Assemble components into new and existing experimental setups

Communicate with suppliers of scientific instruments and laboratory equipment
-
Participate in laboratory maintenance and operation
-
Assist with technical laboratory work, including cutting, grinding, and polishing metal and alloy samples
-
Propose and develop technical solution concepts based on the needs of the scientific team
What We’re Looking For

Ability to read and create technical (manufacturing) drawings
-
Experience with 3D CAD design (Autodesk Inventor preferred, but not required)

Practical experience with workshop or hands-on technical tasks
-
Manual dexterity, precision, patience, and attention to detail
-
Background in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is an advantage

Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
