Weakly Compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics for Free Surface Flow
P. Jančík, T. Hyhlík | |
Abstract: | |
This paper presents weakly compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH) method for free surface ?ow problems. The free surface approach is a simpli?cation, which can be applied to some multiphase problems. The method is brie?y introduced and all relevant used techniques are described. To prove functionality of the algorithms, the solution of simple two-dimensional dam collapse problem is presented. This problem is regarded as a suitable problem, as it contains many features common to all free surface problems. The kinematics of this solution is in a relatively good agreement with experimental and numerical data obtained from the literature, both qualitatively and quantitatively. In the end, some measures are proposed to improve the current state of the algorithm to reduce present drawbacks.
